What is CAWI?

The Caribbean Association of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Staff (CAWI) is a non-profit, non-political, social and charitable organization comprised of Caribbean nationals working at the World Bank Group (WBG), International Monetary Fund (IMF), Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Organization of American States (OAS) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in Washington, DC. CAWI was founded on March 11, 1983.

 

Our main objectives are to provide staff and colleagues with:

  • a forum for the exchange of views, ideas and constructive interactions on Caribbean affairs

  • a forum for discussing matters of institutional interest

  • an avenue for the establishment of meaningful contacts and networks

  • a vehicle for assisting in the advancement of professional, social, cultural and other interests

  • a medium for organizing social, cultural, charitable and other related activities
